Cristiano Ronaldo's agents have confirmed he is set to begin contract talks with Manchester United.
Gestiftute, the company who look after the FIFPro World Player of the Year, said in an interview with Sky Sports that the Portugeuse winger is hopeful of signing a new deal.
"It is normal, that a footballer wants a deal to go with his status and one that matches his performances on the field," a representative for Gestifute said.
"But nobody has prepared anything concrete. We want to avoid all these rumours in the press and will have contact with United."
Though both parties are keen to have a deal agreed, no firm date has been set for the negotiation to begin.
"We do predict a meeting with Manchester United to speak about the future of Ronaldo, but still there is not an exact date," the spokesman said.
