2008 MotoGP Champion Valentino Rossi is in negotiations with Ferrari about a possible Formula One test.
Rossi has tested with the Scuderia in the past, having contemplated a move to Formula One in 2006. However, instead the Italian opted to stay in MotoGP and, after a two-year drought, clinched the title this season.
"We are working on it, it can happen," Rossi told Autosport with regards to a Ferrari test in the off-season.
"However, we don't know yet whether we will and on what day. We'll know something after the end of the F1 Championship on November 2."
However, should the Yamaha rider get behind the wheel of a Ferrari it won't be with a career-switch in mind.
"It's just for fun," he said. "I'm happy if they let me try it again, because I miss it a bit.
"However there's no other ambition, because I signed a contract for two more years for Yamaha. It will just be for passion and I think Valentino Rossi with Ferrari is fun for Italy."
